Immunizations
The Immunizations Department is here to support the following:

Administer required vaccines to Active Duty, DoD and civilian employees, and dependents, to include routine, required and travel related vaccines. This includes routine vaccinations for all ages from infants to geriatrics.

Educate patients and caregivers about the importance of immunizations, following recommended immunization schedules, possible side-effects of immunizations, and aftercare.

Report adverse vaccine related events to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.

Supports large scale vaccination campaigns to aid in the prevention of communicable diseases, such as Influenza and COVID-19.

Prepares vaccines for administration according to manufacturer's instructions and administers vaccines using a safe and proper technique; using a system of verification to ensure accuracy.

Administers and evaluates tuberculosis skin tests and refers patients as needed per protocol.

Flu Vaccine
Naval Hospital Rota offers the influenza vaccine to all active-duty service members, beneficiaries, contractors, local nationals, and general schedule employees. The vaccine is authorized for children 6 months and older and is available at the Immunizations Clinic via walk-in.
Getting the COVID-19 Vaccine
Currently Naval Hospital Rota has seasonal COVID-19 vaccine for ages 6 months and older.
The CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of COVID-19 illness.
