Immunizations
The Immunizations Department is here to:
- Administer required, routine, and travel-related vaccines to active-duty service members, DOD civilian employees, and family members of all ages.
- Educate patients and caregivers about the importance of immunizations, following recommended immunization schedules, possible side-effects of immunizations, and aftercare.
- Report adverse vaccine related events to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.
- Support large scale vaccination campaigns to help prevent contagious diseases, such as influenza and COVID-19.
- Prepare vaccines for administration according to the manufacturer's instructions and administer vaccines using a safe and proper technique, using a system of verification to ensure accuracy.
- Administer and evaluate tuberculosis skin tests and refer patients as needed per protocol.
