The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
If you have a scheduled appointment or other business at the MTF, please verify with your provider or applicable office within the MTF to ensure there are no changes in schedule. To learn how the lapse in appropriations affects your TRICARE benefit, visit

Getting Care

Visitor Guidelines

The Visitor Policy is subject to change in the COVID environment.

United States Naval Hospital Rota believes in family-centered health care, as families are important to the overall care and well-being of patients. Visitors should be respectful of patient needs and hospital regulations. Visitors should comply with infection control guidelines and precautions. In the event a visitor requests or requires medical attention, the nursing staff will assist the visitor to the Emergency Department. For their safety, visitors under the age of 12 years must be accompanied and closely supervised by an adult (not admitted to the hospital) at all times. USNH Rota is a tobacco-free facility.

Visiting hours are from daily, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., for this inpatient area. Requests to extend visiting hours depend on bed availability, nursing judgment regarding patient safety, and respect for additional patients admitted to the same room.
Don't forget to keep your family's information up to date in DEERS!
