Check in Process

1. Arrival

Personnel arriving via Military CAT-B (Rotator/AMC) flights

At the AMC Terminal, a sponsor will be available to greet you. Upon arrival to NAVSTA Rota, your sponsor will escort you to the nearest gate access to have your orders stamped. Once stamped, report to the U.S. Naval Hospital Rota Patient Administration department as soon as possible to submit your Overseas Suitability Screenings! Directly following,  you will be escorted to Human resources, where we start the in-processing paperwork and issue the command check-in sheet.

Personnel arriving via commercial flights (Jerez or Sevilla)

Upon arrival, your sponsor will meet you at via Airport / Train station and escort you to Naval Station Rota. At any gate access you will  have your orders stamped. Once stamped, report to the U. S. Naval Hospital Rota Patient Administration department as soon as possible to submit your Overseas Suitability Screenings! Directly following, you will be escorted to Human resources where we start the in-processing paperwork and issue the command check-in sheet.

2. Forms required for check-in

Please bring the following forms to Human Resources (HR) to expedite check-in process.

  • Stamped Orders

  • Flight Itinerary

  • Travel Receipts

  • Page 2 (Dependency Application/Record of Emergency Data)

  • Stamped Overseas Screening (Navpers 1300/16)

3. Where to report

a. Hospital - Bldg. 1802

Monday - Friday: 0730 to 1630 (Please check into the Human Resources Department located in E-121):  Please be in the appropriate dress uniform of the day.

b. PSD Administration - Bldg. 1. (Command Sponsorship) 

Please bring the following items:

  • Stamped Overseas Screening
  • Stamped Orders
  • Current Page 2 (Dependency Application/Record of Emergency Data)

c. Pass and ID   

Base Security Building - Monday to Friday 0830 to 1600 (closed during Spanish Holidays). If you arrive after working hours or on a holiday please go to the Front or (Main Gate) to obtain a base pass.

4. Please be mindful of mandatory classes that may cause time constraints in the first 2 weeks:

  • Housing Brief  (Every Friday @ 1000)
  • International Cultural Relations Classes (4 Day class every other week. During Summer months- weekly.)
  • Command Indoctrination ( 3 days for Active Duty Personnel)

5. Documentation required for TEI Card: (Tarjeta Especial de Identification) 

  • ORIGINAL COPY of your orders in hand

  • Command Endorsed Page 13 ( Bldg 1 PSD)

  • No Fee Passport / Tourist Passport  

  • Active Duty Common Access Card   /  Current Dependent ID Card (DD-1173)

**Please Note** Dependents passports will be sent off for official stamps and verification. This process may take up to 3-5 weeks. Sponsor/dependent must go to security after allotted time to receive individual passports. This is the only way you will receive the passport.
