Preventive Medicine Operations

Preventive Medicine Officers and Technicians provide a vast range of services to protect and preserve the health and quality of life for all Active Duty Service members, their families, and anyone else in our community.

Preventive Medicine also:

  • Monitors and aids in the treatment of animal bite incidences in conjunction with the Army Veterinarian

  •  Conducts medical surveillance for all infectious diseases

  •  Plays a large role in Immunizations

Provides Education in:

  • Sexual health and practices

  • Travel precautions

  • Travel related medication

  • Food safety and sanitation

Performs in depth inspections for the following:

  • Food serving facilities

  • Facility sanitation and habitability

  • Parks and recreational areas

  • Fitness and aquatic facilities

Provides ice machine quality testing Including:

  • Total coliforms (fecal contaminants)

  • E-coli

Water quality analysis: ensures proper procedures are being followed to ensure a safe drinking supply.
